Christmas Torte

Reed and I made my Grandmother's Christmas torte a few days ago.  It is so much fun to be able to do projects like this with her!  She is a great helper and was particularly interested in the icing (Cool Whip) and with putting the sprinkles on top.  Now every day she asks for cake :)

'Tis the Season

Holiday season is upon us and we are off to a great start!  Not only have we been to many local holiday events, Reed is taking more interest in her Christmas dresses than her Halloween costume :)  

I enjoy being a parent for many reasons but one of the things that brings me the most joy is experiencing life through a child's perspective.  Reed is loving all the Christmas lights and even enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap this year.  What fun it is for us to enjoy these experiences with her!  Here are a few photos from this past weekend.

Reed 2 years old

It is hard to believe Reed who we referred to as "the baby" until Henry was born is two years old.   Here are a few interesting things to know about Reed at two.  She does not eat fruit or vegetables.  She loves to read books.  She is still wearing her Halloween costume and now refers to herself as "kitty Reed."  She has discovered sweets and likes them.  She is a great big sister to Henry.  She has a rapidly growing vocabulary and has a lot to say.  The first time she put two words together it was "pink toes" to refer to the polish I had just put on her toes.  She is a very kind, cautious and loving little girl!  She has brought so much joy to our life. We are so glad she is ours!

Henry 3 1/2 months

Here is Henry at 3 1/2 months.  He is a delightful baby!  We could not be happier to have him in our life.

What a difference in size!  This little guy was born at 7 lbs 1 oz and was 14 lbs at his 2 month visit.

Henry's arrival

I continue to try to catch up on my blogging chronologically.  On August 16th we were blessed with a baby boy, Henry Raj Arjal.  He has been such a joyful addition to our family and Reed is a wonderful big sister to the little guy.
Here are a few pictures from his birth.  Obviously not photos that I took.

Summer play

These were taken in August, just two weeks before little Henry's arrival.  I thought the spot outside my OB office in Issaquah was a great place for some photos prior to an appointment, but as luck would have it Reed was not in the mood for a photo shoot on this particular day.  These were the best I got.  She is in general not a fan of looking at the camera.

Long lost blogging

It  has been forever since I have been on my blog.  I have clearly failed my Project 52, maybe to be restarted with better luck in 2013.
We had our sweet Henry almost 3 moths ago now and I am just beginning to catch up on things.  I have been taking photos, although not as many as I probably should, and the ones I have taken have been sitting on my camera....until tonight.  Time to start catching up :)
